09/27/2014 - IAA Commercial Motor Vehicles 2016

Haan-Gruiten, 22 September 2016 - When the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles opens its doors in Hannover from September 22 to 29, the suspension specialists of HEMSCHEIDT will also be there to present new products.

A new hydro-pneumatic suspension with an innovative cylinder suspension is at the heart of the presentation. The cylinder, which is designed for heavy goods vehicles, can dynamically carry up to 22 tonnes load failsafe and is built so short that you can mount it on the axle. As a result, it saves two smaller cylinders per wheel. In this way the system weight of the unsprung mass can be reduced by approx. 20 percent. By putting the cross joint outside the cylinder closing cover and the piston rod guide almost up to the top edge of the cylinder, a direct suspension can be centred on the axle with maximum stroke. In that way no additional torque is led into the axle, which saves additional weight and cost. A space for the brake control behind the axle also makes the component lighter and cheaper. The new Heplex system is already used in the new RMMV mountain crane vehicle.

In addition, HEMSCHEIDT will present the latest air suspension system that will be used in series by one of the largest trailer manufacturers. The system includes the spring guide, an innovative three-piece bonded rubber bearing in the front spring suspension lug and the mechanical clamping solution for position-independent axle connection. It is wear-free and perfectly matched to the dynamic requirements of the commercial vehicle sector. At the TRAILER INNOVATION AWARD 2015 the innovative air-suspension system was awarded third place in the chassis category. HEMSCHEIDT Fahrwerktechnik accomplished the successful series introduction merely 24 months after the presentation of the innovative air suspension at the last IAA Commercial Vehicles.

Another highlight at the HEMSCHEIDT stand at the IAA is the extremely lightweight, yet rugged sheet metal guide solution. Innovative materials and procedures make the guide significantly lighter than customary guides available on the market. The low weight of the lightweight axle guide even astounds experts. The result is a guide that is highly strong and rigid along the longitudinal axis, with advantageous low torsional stiffness and a very robust bearing seat.

HEMSCHEIDT products are known to be extremely robust, resilient and efficient. The technologically advanced chassis components of the specialist manufacturer are now incorporated in many commercial vehicles and articulated buses from renowned international firms.
